Arnhem-veterans and next of kin welcome again at Airborne Memorial Service

The Organisation of the Airborne Memorial Service has send out a letter to all Branches of the Parachute Regiment Association and other veterans organisations to inform them they are very welcome to the remembrance service at the Arnhem-Oosterbeek War Cemetery in Oosterbeek.

“The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces Charity announces that the Airborne Memorial Service Oosterbeek will take place on Sunday 18 September 2022 at 11.00 am at the Arnhem-Oosterbeek War Cemetery of the Commonwealth War Grave Commission at the Van Limburg Stirumweg in Oosterbeek.

During this 78th Memorial Service various branches will lay wreaths at the Cross of Sacrafice and hundreds of Schoolchildren will lay flowers on the graves of the fallen soldiers.

The Memorial Service starts at 11.00 am and lasts about an hour. Due to the limited space at the cemetery and the large number of expected visitors, we want to give the Next of Kin of the men who are buried in the cemetery and also Arnhem Veterans an extra opportunity to use a seat.

Therefore we kindly ask the Next of Kin and Arnhem Veterans to report their presence at the Memorial Service early to the organization of the Memorial Service by e-mailing a request for an seat-ticket to You can do this until August 20, 2022. This is only for the directly Next of Kin and Arnhem Veterans! The special seat-ticket wil send by post.

For other visitors who need a seat like elderly and disabled, a limited number of free seats will be placed in the cemetery. Our advice is to be present early. The organization makes an urgent request to visitors who can stand during the Memorial Service not to use a seat.
