attending the Service

The Service starts at 11:00 hrs. Visitors are requested to be present at 10:45 hrs.

The Service lasts about 75 minutes.

The Airborne Memorial Service is a public service and accessible to everyone. It is not possible to offer a seat to every visitor. A limited number of seats is available for disabled people and elderly. These seats cannot be reserved in advance.

It is not possible to reserve a seat or standing place at the Cemetery. That applies to both groups and individual visitors. At the Cemetery enough space is available to attend the Service standing. A limited number of seats are available for disabled people and elderly.

For Arnhem Veterans and immediate next of kin of fallen soldiers seats are available. They can apply for seats here .

Due to safety regulations public spaces at the Cemetery are only suitable for standing places. For that reason it is not allowed to bring your own (folding) chairs to the Cemetery.  

The Cemetery is unpaved and has a lawn. It is accessible for (powered) wheelchairs. In bad weather it can be more difficult to access.

At the entrance of the Cemetery mobile toilet units will be available.

parking

Parking is available for visitors at the Dreyenseweg in Oosterbeek near the Johannahoeve road (Mill Hill). You do not need a parking ticket to park.

The route to the parking is clearly indicated by signs. From the parking it is a 500 meter walk to the entrance of the Cemetery. For those who have difficulty walking a shuttle bus runs from the parking to the Cemetery. The shuttle bus runs until 10:30 hrs and leaves from the back of Oosterbeek Railway Station at the Dreyenseweg.

When you arrive by taxi, the driver can drop you off at the entrance of the Cemetery.

Vehicles with an official disabled sign are allowed to use the disabled parking next to the Cemetery.
